All of the giveaways will close on Sunday, April 6, 2014. Without further ado, let us continue with our last book for the week, Book #5: This or That?
Summary: Welcome to This or That , where every answer brings you one step closer to discovering your hidden self. Want to find out your ideal career? The country that best suits your idea of the good life? The species of your inner animal? Through in-depth exploration and analysis of the inner workings of your mind, we’ll peel you back layer by layer and you won’t even realize it. In this hysterically fun and simple quiz book, you’ll find out things about yourself that you don’t even know we’re asking. Each vividly colored page is so exciting, fun, and revealing that you will want to share with your parents, friends, and yes, even your brother and sister. So stop wasting your time trying to discover the true you–let us do it for you!
My Thoughts: Sadly, I don’t have this book in hand … YET! But, when I spied this book in the National Geographic Kids Catalogue, I knew this was the book for our family. Ever since the kids were little, one of the games we frequently play when we are driving the car or at dinner time is “Which/What would you rather be/do/eat/etc… ?” We have come up with some of the craziest (and sometimes utterly disgusting) scenarios from which to choose.
For example, “Would you rather sleep in a bathtub filled with cold water or on a bed made of jagged rocks?”; “Would you rather eat a bowl of dirt or drink a glass of sour milk?”; “Who would you rather have over for dinner? Bowser or a Goomba?” We could go on and on for hours. So, in This or That? the reader is presented with options from which to choose, and information is provided about each side helping to weigh out the pros and cons. Thus, the reader is able to make an “informed” decision. Importantly, instead of weighing out “silly” options like we do, the idea is that the reader gets to know themselves better and to inspire them to think of their future. What will I be when I grow up?
Until I get my hands on the book, I can’t say much more about it, but do look for our review which I’ll pop up as soon as we receive and read the book.
