We are so pleased to have with us today a fellow blogger, Crystal, who is the author behind the eclectic parenting blog, Crystal’s Tiny Treasures.
I just recently met Crystal through the Kid Lit Giveaway Hop we hosted back in May 2013 with Youth Literature Reviews. Crystal’s blog is literally a treasure trove of articles sharing recipes, books, crafts, and activities for children. For those of you who love reading birth stories, I was very moved by Crystal’s story of the birth of her son, Tristan, who was born 79 days early and who just happens to be our guest reviewer this week! Also, be sure to have a look at the activities inspired by the book Pie-Rits by Julia Dweck, the book that Crystal read and reviewed with Tristan for us. So pop on by and be sure to say a quick hello!
About Crystal’s Tiny Treasures by Crystal:
Crystal’s Tiny Treasures follows the path of my children while they are learning at home. The world is much bigger than the place in which we currently live and we are trying to explore our world using all of our senses. There is so much to learn and do, and so little time, but we still find time for lots of reading, crafts, and foods as well!
Here’s what Crystal has to say about the importance of books and reading in her home:
I grew up surrounded by books and enjoyed being able to escape to many exciting places in them. I hope to share my love of books with my children so that they will never stop learning about the world around them, and the worlds in their imaginations. Reading is educational, fun, interesting, and easily accessible for everyone, and can also be free. Recently we have been enjoying different arts, crafts, activities and food ideas to bring the books we read to life, including Julia Dweck’s Pie-Rits.
Crystal and her son Tristan chose to review the funny picture e-book Pie-Rits by Julia Dweck.
