Background: When my friend, author Sherrill Cannon, contacted me to raise awareness about a rare and incurable disease called Juvenile Myositis (JM), I knew that I wanted to join in her efforts. JM is a group of rare and life-threatening autoimmune conditions affecting approximately 17,000 children in the United States alone. Sherrill is teaming up with the Cure JM Foundation, a not-for-profit volunteer organization dedicated to finding a cure for JM, by offering 50% of the cost of her books when purchased through a website set up by Sherrill herself: http://sbpra.com/curejm/.
I urge you to visit Sherrill’s fundraising website to help raise money for the Cure JM Foundation. Here, you will meet seven year old Addie who has been diagnosed with JM. Addie has her own FaceBook website, Addie’s Angels, and is a little angel with a lot of heart. More information is also available through the Cure JM Foundation website. Please consider helping find a cure for Addie and so many other children suffering from this autoimmune disease. What if this disease affected your own child, grandchild, niece, nephew, neighbor, your child’s friend? How do you know it won’t?
Giveaway Details:
Prize: One lucky winner will win a prize pack consisting of 1 print copy of each of Sherrill Cannon’s award-winning books, The Magic Word, Peter and the Whimper Whineys, Santa’s Birthday Gift, and Gimme-Jimmy. This prize pack is my personal contribution to this fundraiser. Note: Even if you don’t personally have or know a child who would enjoy these books, I still urge you to enter the contest and, should you win, you can donate the books to your local library, your neighborhood preschool or school, and even a women’s shelter (where there are frequently young children who would love some fantastic books).
Contest closes: October 1, 11:59 pm, 2012
Open to: U.S. and Canada
How to enter: Please enter using the Rafflecopter widget below. You can donate them to local charities, schools, day cares, libraries, etc. They will LOVE you for it! Even if you just tweet about this giveaway or like Addie’s Angels and/or the Cure JM Foundation Facebook fan page, you are already doing your part by helping raise awareness of this disease.
